The press publishes books and chapbooks of fine poetry and, very rarely, short works of prose. PGP also publishes a regular chapbook series for students at St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas.

Each year, Pecan Grove Press nominates various poems and books for a variety of prizes. Niminees for 2009 prizes are listed below:

Fran Witte, from First Rain

Marian Haddad, from POEtry and PrOsE

Robin Kemp, from This Pagan Heaven

Helen Frost, from as if a dry wind

Nick Carbo, from Chinese Japanese, What Are These?

Phoebe Reeves, from Lobes and Petals of the Inanimate

Pecan Grove Press has nominated Jennifer Rathbun's translation of Juan Armando Rojas's Rio Vertebral / Vertebral River for the translation prize from ALTA.

The press is also pleased to announce that it has nominated Charlie Bondhus's How the Boy Might See It for the 2009 Levis Reading Prize from Virginia Commonwealth University.
